Identifying the WD build number

When Brian updates WD, he names the build number with a date. Is there a way to tell by a tag which dated version you are using?

There is not a tag for the build version date only the build version

Ok, thanks, Harold I wonder why Brian doesn’t call a new update a new build?

If I remember correctly he said that if he fixes something minor that only affects a small number of people he doesn’t give it a new number. Some people feel the need to update every time they see any version number, even if it’s just a very minor version number change.

So not updating the version prevents large numbers of unnecessary downloads.

I’ve often wondered why Brian didn’t add a date or simply change the build number even with a minor update.

If it’s any help, I run a script that notifies whenever Brian produces an update and I archive them here: Clayton, NC Weather - WD Archive. Of course, there are currently seven versions of 10.37S Build 152 from Aug 8 to Nov 9. I’m not even sure which one I’m running!

Brian does list the version history by date and version/build number here: Weather Display - the Weather Station software but not every update is listed. He has 6 of the 7 build 152 updates listed.

I figuered out how to tell which version of wd you are running,
If you open the folder “wdisplay” and find the “WeatherDisplay.exe” file, the date show in column “date modified” will match Brians upload revision. http://www.docmarvweather.com/wd_help_pics/wd_version_Screenshot.png

Also if you go help in WD and click about it tells you the build number…

Yes, but not the dated version, right now we have had 7 revisions of build 152
