I need help setting up sun data in Weather Display

I recently acquired a Davis Vantage Pro2 with solar sensors, and I’m unable to configure WeatherDisplay to show the hours of sunshine, UV, etc. Can a moderator help me correctly configure WD version 10.37S-152? My operating system is Win11.
Regards

You don’t say whether the sensors are working with WD or not, so I’ll take it from the top.

  1. Control Panel > Station Type & Settings > Davis > make sure there’s a tick in the right hand box for “I have Solar + UV”.
  2. Control Panel > Solar Sensor > Make sure the “Main Switch” is set to “On”. When this switch is ON, you’ll get two new gauges at the top of the main WD window, the top one shows current solar % and Sunshine Hours, the other shows ET and you there should be text data to the left.
  3. Same page under the tab “Max Solar Time of Day” > Check the Lat & Long + time zone is correct and you can also set an offset here, if your sensors are is shadow for part of the day.
  4. Same page under tab “Thresholds/Icon/Solar Description” > set your required solar descriptions (how you want to report solar on your website) and set the icon should work.
  5. Same page under tab “Current Readings” > check that the system is getting the current data from the solar sensor.
  6. Same page under tab “Graph Plot/Misc Settings” > tick the settings you want to use on your main graph. I suggest plotting Wm2 and not Solar %.
  7. Control Panel > Graph Setup > Solar/UV/Misc Setup > more main graph settings on this page, which should match what you’ve just set, but make sure they are what you want and you can add more, like the block colour of the solar plot, from yellow to red.

I think that’s about it, it’s been a while since I set this up from scratch, so the workflow may not be the most efficient but it should work.

Thank you for your information. I’ll configure it according to your instructions.
Best regards

Hi Mate
The link below takes you to Saratoga Weather Templates. Even if you are not uploading to the template, the instructions may help you. Particuly towards the end of instructions where it talks about Solar etc.
