How do I get my WS2510 to work?

I’ve dowloaded both the 10.13x and 10.13x-beta versions and tried to get my WS2510 to work. I select the righ com port (com1) and I selected WS2500/2510 Console vesrion. On the special view for the WS2010-13/WS2500 dta logger setup/info screen did a get status and received this message:

getting status
Ws2500 time on
Ackl, stopping time
getting status2

When I select the get data button I get this stream repeadetly:

get data click
Ws2500 timer on
Ackl, stopping time
getting data
Retrying
get data click
Ws2500 timer on
Ackl, stopping time
getting data
Retrying
etc…

If I check the programerrorlog I have this over and over:
final_data[1]:2;
final_data[2]:1;
final_data[3]:6;
final_data[4]:247;
final_data[5]:3;

The Data Received and Data Quality icons on the weather display are blank or respectivally red…

I had the original PC Weather Station software installed to confirm that the com port is the right one and that the WS2510 is communicating with the PC. It was working with that setup. So I uninstalled PC Weather Station and installed Weather Display instead.

Thanks for any help, Stefan

it looks to be some sort of timing issue…
i.e with the wake up command sequence…
its good you are getting some data…but that raw data just shows that the syncing of comminucation is not working
there is setting you can try tweaking, the timing of that wake up comamnd, in the bottom left hand corner
the default is 50 ms
but maybe try changing that
also, though, it takes 15 minutes before new data is available…

Brian,
Thanks for the response. I don’t get data with the Weather Display software at all. The only time I successfully communicated with my WS2510 was with the original PC Weather Station software.

You pointed me to the wake up comand, where do I find this? I checked the main display of Weather Display, on the control panel the “Comm port setup” and “Weather station type…”, and on the view menu the “WS201-13/WS2500…” tab. None of them show me a wake up command setting.

Thanks, stefan

i never said you would find a wake up command,but there is a setting to adjust that changes the rate that wd sends the wake up command to the weather station…its the number you can adjust in the bottom left hand corner of the ws2010/ws2500 data setup/view screen.
I do not know why it will not work for you…it works Ok for others, and i have it working here with the ws2500 PC data logger.

but also make sure no other software is trying to access the station at the same time
