 Just got my 2310 for Christmas. I downloaded the latest version of WS. I must say, I’m quite impressed. Bear with me as I am a newbie and also not that computer swift.
The graphs on the right hand side do not appear to update. Whenever I turn on the PC in the morning the graphs come up fine but the time at the extreme right hand side never moves. It stays at the same time as when I frist fired up the PC. If I shut down WC and restart the graphs will update up to the time I restarted WC but not any further.
The graphs zero out at midnight, as I’ve selected, When I fire up the PC in the morning I’d like to be able to see what’s happened over night. Is there a way the graphs can loop instead of zeroing out?
The Max Gust Today and Max Last Hour and times are the same readings I had a couple of days ago. They don’t seem to be automatically zeroing out and updating.
Other wise I’m enjoying WS and as soon as My computer Geek son comes home I’m going to get him to help me set up a web page.
It stays at the same time as when I frist fired up the PC.
Is the station still updating though? Are the "dials", ie the left side updating while the computer is on?

What do you mean "zero out"?
3. The Max Gust Today and Max Last Hour and times are the same readings I had a couple of days ago. They don't seem to be automatically zeroing out and updating.
Is just the Max gust today and max gust last hour not updating or are all the extremes not updating?
I would say 1, 2 are related, and I am sure somone will have a solution.
Yes the info to the left of the graphs (dials and digital readouts update continually)
All information prior to midnight is gone. The graphs are flat line.
Only Max Gust stuff is not updating. Everything else is fine.
I love my sons very much. I’m proud of them and they are equally proud to be Geeks. Lord knows they"ll make more money than the old man ever dreamed of.
Another problem: This morning when I fired up I’m both the data quality and data received boxes are red and I’m not getting anything to display.
I ran the heavy weather software provided by LaCrosse and it is updating fine so I know my connections are OK.
hi
sometimes WD’s misfires in starting reading the ws2310 at start up
try restarting again
please also check under view, program erorr log for any errors there
all else fails, email me your settings files
wdisplay.ini
from c:\windows or c:\winnt
and
wdisplayftp.reg (go to action, back up registry, then click on backup, then that file will be in the folder databackup)
I exited WD and restarted at least 20 times. I was about ready to take a hammer to the PC when surfing I saw a folder named reboot32. I clicked it and my PC shut down, restarted, WD restarted and lo and behold so far everything is working as expected. Dumb luck I guess
Do you provide an “Owners Manual” or “WD for Dummies” guide with the purchase of this software? I guess I’m the type who likes my info in print. Such as “If you want this really cool feature - Do this”
As you update your software versions, how do you market to us that already have older versions? Benefits? Cost? etc.
This may be false, but I thought I read somewhere that if you call Dell tech. support, the first thing they tell you to do is to reboot your computer. I guess we have Mr Gates to thank for that (or the people who “really” write the windows code).
yeah, a pc reboot will fix com port issues that s for sure,
and it might have been the case that heavyweather software was still running somewhere in the background and hogging the com port, or similar
