I’ve noticed this a couple times, but I’ve not been able to duplicate it.
Occasionally, when I run WD it uploads the files into the root directory of the remote ftp site instead of the directory it is supposed to.
I’ve seen it now 3 times with 4 versions, but each time, I don’t know what is causing it.
When I catch it, the next update is in the correct place.
Not sure what is going on.
Currently using 10.7w wdl 2.05
yes I get that on occasion - I just put it down to the remote FTP server having a glitch and not changing directory when requested. I get a bunch of files in root which I just delete if I remember to. The next time as you say it all works fine and uploads to the correct remote directory.
I don’t think it is a problem with the ftpupd.exe as it issues the CWD command ok - unless it is doing things too quickly - I did see this reported on another thread somewhere.
It just reminded me that when I first started using WD, I had entered in the wrong path, and the ftp process blew past the CWD error and uploaded anyway.
I had forgotten this…
If you read Brian’s response in the quoted thread you’ll see that’s a feature of the design based on it being easier to troubleshoot files getting uploaded to the wrong dir, than not getting uploaded at all. Brian gets blamed for a lot of operator and other errors so I have a lot of sympathy for that idea.
