Try to upload clientraw.txt to build a “svg” page on my website (java type, and flash type to try “weather live”)
So, the software begins normally, uploads 5 times “clientraw.txt” to my page via FTP, each 10 seconds… and it stops…
I need to reset weather display to make it again only work 5 times…
What’s wrong…
I’ve tried this a few days without any problem…
I’ve changed nothing in the settings, neither in my uploads config…
a new full version of WD ( an new 10.10i) the clientraw.txt real ftp is now handled by a separate .exe program to WD (you will need to have yoour firewall allow it through), and it will start up auto when WD starts up if you have the real time clientraw.txt file ftp upload enabled in the svg/real time upload (under the webfiles/web page setup)
it will also exit soon after you save and exit WD too...
Although I have to restart */wdisplay/clientrawrealtimeftp.exe shortly (10 seconds..?) after WD starts up (v10.10x and earlier).
Once I restart the clientrawrealtimeftp.exe program the clientraw.txt update runs until WD is restarted.
either:
wait 1 minute before restating WD, and wait until the current clientrawftp.exe closes, or simply double click the clientrawftp.exe icn (the yellow flash, in the folder where wd is installed), to restart it…i.e dont restart WD
i.e right on Captdilli

the sample had about 3 minutes of this (set for 15 second upload)
not sure what has caused this or how long it was doing it before i tried to view the svg about 5 hours before this sample, was ok yesterday evening. starting and stopping it made no differance, only way to get it working was to close clientrealtimeftp and restart it, this has happen two or three times in past three or four days. made sure i closed and restarted clientrealtimeftp after upgrading WD, normal ftp ok.
i would agree it does look as if it has no connection but as normal ftp uploads working ok, i would say the client ftp has lost communication with the server (uses matrix ftp clusters) requires it to be shut down and restarted. what would happen if i scheduled clientrealtimeftp to start, say every hour
Hi
I am still having problems with client ftp when it starts with the error as posted in an earlier post in this thead. Once this error starts the ftp continues with it even when it resets and does not close the client ftp and restart it so this means no clientraw file upload till i can manually close it. Today it did it and when i got home i opened it up and saw same error as before, i then open a new client ftp and viewed it this started uploading ok, this one even shut down and restarted during a main upload but the original was still giving error message. Is there any way to force the client ftp to close unattended and restart when this error occurs.
Brian,
I have the same problem about once every other day. The error codes are the same as previously posted in this thread.
I noticed that the clientraw.txt file on the webserver is 0 bytes whenever that happens.
I am also using the clientrawrealtimeftp2 instead of clientrawrealtimeftp. If I use the clientrawrealtimeftp without anything in the “Use this filename on the FTP server instead” field, the clientraw.txt file doesn’t get uploaded and the ftp log displays a message about file not specified. If I do enter clientraw.txt in the field, the error message displayed in the ftp log says it is unable to read file.
But clientrawrealtimeftp2 works fine up until it hangs. If I manually close the clientrawrealtimeftp2 and then restart it, it starts working again. Within WD, I have it set to restart every 10 minutes.
hi
i have added an option to restart the real time ftp at the scheduled re login interval
the clientrawrealtimeftp2.exe is for a completly separate (if you want) settings, as per in the real time ftp (and is different to the use these settings instead, which apply to the clientrawrealtime.exe
re 0 bytes, try the rename the file, if you server supports that
