I’ve made a few changes to the forum and there will be a few more on the way. The changes made so far are:
- Created a new ‘Archive’ Category to hold boards that are no longer active. Like all categories you can collapse this so that it doesn’t take up screen space. Boards in the archive are still searchable and readable but they are read-only so you can’t reply to them any longer. If you want to discuss a topic in an archived board just get a link to it and post that into a message in an active board with your comment/question.
- Moved some boards into the Archive. Some of these are previously locked down boards and I’ve also moved a couple into Archive. Graphics Requests has moved because this was mainly Kevin Reed’s project and sadly Kevin died a few years ago. I’ve also moved the Tinplate Software board because I think the software is no longer compatible with the latest Davis equipment and the board is rarely used these days. You can always discuss either of these topics in ‘Chatter’ if you wish to do so.
- Inactive topics in most boards are now locked, i.e. read-only, 60 days after the last post. This is a pre-cursor to another change that will be coming along in the next day or two. If there is a significant reason to re-open a locked topic let me know, but I’m assuming this will be a fairly rare occurrence.
