Error when rain/rate on consolle it's over 998 or 999 mm/h

Hi,
I have two weather station

  1. WM918 with modified rain gauge at 0,25 for tip and
    2)wm938 wireless

Over 39 inches per hour?

Nooo  Carter you don’t understand…

the big value it’s verified because on wm918 and wmr968 stations the rain gauge is planned for 1 mm for tips.Well, when i had modified the pluviometer with a big funnel to collect more rainfall, the value on consolle is always 1 mm for tip but on WD it is read as new resolution E.G. 0,16 mm.(you can set a value under Offset and rainfall adjustment into Modified rain gauge new tip)
Therefore when i have a real heavy rain the value on consolle read always as 1mm but in truth are 0.16 mm.
This cause rain/rate overflow error on consolle.
In this case the total tips count on the consolle is right but into wheater Display not work during the rain rate overflow.

Have you understand?

Cheers

Mario

Ah ha! Now I get it! 8)

But still…

.16mm x 999 = 159mm = 6.25 inches per hour 8O

No,

999 it’s the rain rate on consolle calculated with the original pluviometer (1 mm x tip)

0.16 it’s the value with a big funnel up to original pluviometer…

Cheers MArio

hi
well, i would say its a problem with the data sent from the console, not a bug in wd
how much rain did you simulate and over what time period

Hi Brian,

but the total amount on the console is regulary refresh on the consolle.

E.G.

does it only stop when the overflow on the console occurs?
you need to understand that just because the console rain total keep going ok, that does not necassarily mean the data to the pc is still going OK (i.e that data might be getting stuck, once that over flow of the rain occurs)

Yes Brian, the WD dosen’t work only during the overflow error while the console total amount continue to work correctly.

After the overflow error the WD re-collect the new data without a mm into overflow period

Cheers

Brian,

is this problem soved in the latest version of WD?

I haven’t good news on this problem…

Cheers
