That’s an error from the SMTP server that you’re trying to send the email through. It’s probably because you’re using a FROM adress that the server isn’t set up to accept, although there are a number of reasons for a 550 rejection code.
most likely because you are not connected to the ISP that is that mail sever…
some mail servers require that you are actualy connected to that associated ISP…
that happens to me
That’s far more likely than my suggestion. I’ve been having a bad day today!
I've been having a bad day today!
we all have those !
It was caused by finding a significant problem in a new system that’s going live to the first 200 users (out of 1600) next Monday. 8O
It can always be worse, you could be working for these folks http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/11/26/dwp_network_outage/
We’ve never had it quite so bad, but a virus upgrade once effectively wiped out about 800 PCs. Luckily the machines we’re totally dead, just incredibly slow, so we managed to get a patch onto most of them which sorted them out within 24 hours. It then took another 2 weeks to sort out the remaining 70 machines that needed personal visits.
The latest fun is the Notes crew have been fixing a long standing problem with DST. They were feeling quite happy with the fix, until someone pointed out that all the meetings pre-booked for next year’s DST period are all an hour out. I was on a conference call with them today and they’ve worked out that there are only 180,000 meetings set to the wrong time 8O
