do you need a domain to register?

In reading the instructions for registering it appears that the registration is tied to a domain name. I just use my public IP, which rarely changes, and a free rdirect which is limited. Can I register?

Yes I can assign a serial to an IP address - that works.

What happens when my IP changes?

You would need a new serial. Depends how often it changes really. I use a dynamic DNS service which is very good and although my IP rarely changes it avoids any worry or hassle if it does.

Well, I registered and received my serial number. After reading through many threads again I beleive I sent the wrong web address. In the address bar of IE6 is http://me.sytes.net:8282/index.html.

What now?

Yes I need to send you a serial that takes the different Port into account. I’ll send you an email.
