Davis Vantage Pro. Weatherlink Required?

I am a big fan of the Weatherdisplay software and I am just about to upgrade my trusty Lacrosse WS2300 to a Davis Vantage Pro.

Do I need the Weatherlink pack to connect this new station to my PC??? :?: :?:

If not, is there any benefit to the Weatherlink stuff that I don’t already got from Brians software?? :?:

All the best

Ian D

Weatherlink is a bundle of the hardware and software needed to connect the VP to a PC. You can’t connect to a PC without it, so the best way to think of it is that you are buying the hardware and Davis is throwing the software in for free.

If you use WD you may never have to use the Davis software, but it’s good to have as a reference in case there are any problems. Davis has great support but they can’t support third party software.

Thank you for the quick and comprehensive replies

You would struggle to beat Brian’s software anyways…

I think you’ll like the VP, it’s a very well engineered station. Agree about WD, there’s nothing else to compare.
