hello, WD is it capable of download the data stored by the ws2300 when the PC is stoped. So yes how to proceed? Thank you
I have a WS-2310 which is similar.
The WS-2310 can hold 175 records.
I have mine set to 1 minute records, so I can only retrieve
just under 3 hours of data from a shutdown.
Go to Setup / Control Panel / Data Logger
Fill in the box with the number of minutes to extract.
Put a value in Barometer offset. I use 14.
Press the button, “get data from logger now”. (logger means your WS)
It should report, gathering data from xx minutes. I takes a while.
It then puts that data in your 12004lg.txt file.
You can check and edit that file with WordPad and Save.
Look at the barometer number in the file to see if you need to adjust
the offset from above.
When the data in the file is the way you want it.
Setup / General / Pad out Data (way down the list)
Make sure the “Pad Data” feature is “No”
Use Action / Import Log files / Convert log files
Select the 12004lg.txt on the right and press convert.
This will take the log file data and load into the graphs.

I’ve just been working with this program for about 24 hours now. Your reply is the most clear I’ve beeen able to find. I’m not at home right now so I can’t try your proceedure until this evening. My question is do I have to go through this every time I reboot the computer or is it a one time deal. I lost over $5000.00 worth of electronics last year to lightning. With the sensors mounted way up on the TV antenna I cannot leave the computer hooked to the 2310 when I’m not there. It’s got to be on it’s own during the day. Frustrating too because I can’t put up a live internet page to watch the big storms come through the farm while I’m at work in town.

Does putting a barometer offset make the download work?
In the box download for the last xx minutes, what do you do for 1750 minutes (10 minute log interval times 10) as it will only accept up to 1000.
Whatever I do, it does nothing and downloads nothing, no progress shon on the progress bar.
It is communicating, as the current readings are displayed, as is the graph for as long as the PC is left on.
hi
put 10 in that box
is the time/date correct on the console?

Yes, I set the clock roughly, and then let it get the signal overnight, that way I know it has received the correct time.
It is recording the data, as it can be retrieved using Heavy Weather, and WD is displaying the current data and a graph for however long the PC has been on for.
This is in a school classroom, the PC can not stay on 24/7.
so it goes through the motions of data extraction at start up, but it doesnt actualyu do anything?
does the progress bars move?

No, nothing happens, it says its getting the data, but no activity on the progress bars at all, I left it for an hour and a half the other day and nothing happened.
Been away for the half term holidays, but still can’t get anything to download.
The data is there, and the serial port must be working, because Heavy Weather downloads the data fine.
I see the the version we were sold is 9.96a, is there any point in downloading the latest version? And if we did, what about registration, as we were not given a registration number, just a file to copy.
Hi
yes, i recommend you download and install the latest version
your registration should be OK
also make sure the time and date on the ws2310 console are correct
and also i recommend to set the data interval to 1 minute in wd, under setup, control panel, data logger setup (make sure the data logger switch is ON there too)

OK, the new version downloads the data fine, but only after I have been to control panel, set up com ports and clicked on OK.
I don’t have to change anything, but until I have done this the com lights stay red.
Don’t really want to set the data logger interval to one minute, as the machine has to be switched off every evening and at the weekends (fire regs) and that would mean data would be lost for that period.
