Brian,
Since going up to 10.14+, my daily low temp is recording 32 degrees?? I think we’re in the middle of summer and for the last 4 days this has been this ‘low’ reading (recorded in my daily and monthly reports). Something go astray here as it had been working fine and I haven’t changed any settings from version to version. BTW it is only appearing in the daily/monthly reports. All other graphs, etc show it correctly.
i just tried for the first time the set davis time daily…in the data logger setup, and that gave a blip on the grpah…
which i need to fix (it was ok in testing though!)
so maybe its that?
(see in the data logger setup)
so, under setup, control panel, weather station data logger
you dont have ticked, do daily, next to set the time?
as that causes a 0oC reading (its happening to me), at 6:07am
what time is the 0 occuring at?
does it show up in the daily extremes or on the graph?
(check under say graph history and scroll 6 hours at a time bacl
try unticking clear the data logger daily
(thats another thing i need to test/check on (and its now not needed now that i have the data extract at start up working much better))
also, look through the log file
72004lg.txt
(for july)
at the temperature recorded…and see if you can spot it, and at what time
and or in the first left hand screen when you go to view, averages/extreme it will show the time of that low temperature
that way you can pin point in the log file
as for this suddenly started happening, and this stage i do not know why
the clearing of the VP data daily occurs at 10:07am
that will be it
the same issue arrises with the setting of the time of the console to the pc time…the problem is the data flow stopping breifly, which gives rise to the null readings
working on a fix now
good news!
for Davis VP owners
i have found and fixed this bug (i have tested and confirmed the fix)!
(i.e the option to set the VP console time to the PC time daily (does that at 6:06am), or the option to clear the VP data logger daily (it does that at 10:06am daily)
the bug was that I was changing the weather station type within the program to do these routines…but then that became an unknown weather station type, and that upset the data recording procedure…
uploading a fix as 10.14f now
note, you will need to edit out those bad data lines in the log file (e.g 72004lg.txt) at those times…
whew…this bug has been there a while!
(and it was easy once I figuered out was going wrong…but I just could not see the wood for the trees!)
i will keep an eye on here, but I am very confident i have this old bug fixed finally
i too was able to fix all my graph spikes with the graph edit and fix all my log file bad entried too
(after I forced the clear data records to go ahead, which then created the data spikes (i.e null data))
Do we need to do anything else other than edit the log files, such as 72004lg.txt. I edited all those that had the bad data in them. Luckilly I only turned on the set clock options a little over a month ago.
Will this correct all the reports, graphs etc, or do I need to do something else, such as convert logs to graphs or something.
6:36am , its starting off ok…but we have been up half the night with alliseter who has a very croupy, almost whooping cough
luckli we went to bed earlier to get more sleep…that was the 3rd night in a row having to get up to him (he is 2 years old now).Yesterday he needed lots of attention and cuddles…and it was frustrating for me, i could net get much done (mum was teaching that day)…
lifes tuff at top at the top huh :-({|=
