Daily Hi/Lo Weather Parameters Problem

I upgraded from v10.10 to 10.15.
Everything seemed great until change at midnight. In the View/Daily hi/lo readings/Extra Daily High/Low Weather Parameters display, in the right hand panel for Yesterday’s Values, everything changed to show the values existing at 11:56 P.M. instead of showing the actual data for yesterday.
When I used 10.10 I did not have this problem.
I should point out that in upgrading I installed v10.15 over v10.10. Should I have insteady uninstalled the older version before installing 10.15?

hi
do you have a ws2010-13 data logger?
i have had problems with the daily reset with that station type
but i had thought i had it correct
keep an eye on it
others have this too?
also, what does it say under view, program error log? (it should reseting temp, etc…does it say that 2x ?)

I am using Lacrosse WS2010 and I have icon labeled WS2010-13/WS2500 data logger setup/info located in View Panel. But when I click on that icon, the window that opens has in its title bar the words WS2000/WMR-900H/La Crosse data report.

As to the View/Program error log, the full contents read as follows:

Resetting rain daily value , day: 29
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 29
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 29
Resetting rain daily value , day: 29

There is nothing but these 4 lines in the Program error log.

As added to comment to my last post, the content of the data error log following the latest midnight reset reads:

Resetting rain daily value , day: 29
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 29
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 29
Resetting rain daily value , day: 29
Resetting rain daily value , day: 30
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 30
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 30
Resetting rain daily value , day: 30

…and once again, most of the values in the View/Daily Hi Lo Readings in the right (Yesterday’s values) panel only show the values that were existing at 11:56 p.m. The only exceptions are Daily High Gust and Daily High Average which both read 0 and which both appear to have the correct times yesterday that the occurred, but of course they were not 0 in reality.

Also, after tonight’s midnight reset I accessed the graph which saves as savedgraph.gif in the webfiles Folder of wdisplay and the graph is messed up in its final portion. I will try to paste a copy of it here, although I probably will fail as I cannot figure out quite how one attaches images in these forum postings.

PS, yes as stated I could not paste a copy of the savedgraph.gif. Can you tell me how to paste images in these postings please?

Although the reset is working ok on startup data extraction, it is getting two resets when live. I left my computer on last night and got the same as Arthur

hi
yes, its the 2x lots of data resets that is the problem

i will fix that, hopefully, now…and upload a new version

hi
10.15c beta should be ready soon
please try that version
thanks
and let me know

Brian

A Positive, extremes worked great on a live reset and a data extraction. Tried one each night. Daily sunshine reset OK also.

Thanks for the w/m2 half scale.

Unfortunately the beta version did not solve my problem.
For two nights the midnight reset established only the value existing at 11:58 p.m. on the first night and 11:57 p.m. last night.
In the Yesterday’s values panel all items have At Time readings of 11:57 p.m. except for DAILY RAIN which has an AT Time reading of 00:00 a.m.
In the Yesterday’s value column, all readings are what was existing at 11:57 p.m., none of yesterday’a actual data is being registered. Again the sole exception now is DAILY RAIN and the amount shown for that item is 0.00 in., again with a time of 00:00 a.m.
If it helps at all, my latest error log content reads as follows:

Resetting rain daily value , day: 31
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 31
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 31
Resetting rain daily value , day: 31
Resetting rain daily value , day: 1
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 1
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 1
Resetting rain daily value , day: 1

i have had good news from another user
please use 10.15d
and all should be OK
let me know
sorry for the hassle

Sorry but version 10.15d did not solve my problem.
Now every item in the Yesterday’s values has a time of 00:00 a.m. with the value that was existing at that time, which means yesterday’s record is not displaying, as before.
The only items not as stated above are Daily High Gust that has a value of 0 and a Time of 6:29 p.m. and Daily High Average with a value of 0 and a Time of 6:03 p.m.
Please note that the times of these last two items appear to be correct, that is the actual time yesterday that High Gust and High Wind Average actually occurred. But of course the value of 0 appearing for both is meaningless.
And all the other items are meaningless as they only show values that were in effect at 00:00 a.m.
When I was using 10.10 I never had a problem with this.

hi
oh, its sounds easy, but its just quite hard to work with your weather station type…i,.e its because all the data arrives at once…
its good that 10.15 was ok,.,…but then I upset it, becuasse i was fixing a problem with data downloaded overnight
i will have to fire up the ws2010-13 data logger I have here and see if i can fix this mess…

but, just to confirm, do you see a double record of the reset time in the view, program error log (i,e for the same day)

anyone else getting this problem with the latest version?

The View/Data Error Log now has nothing at all in it. When opened, it is totally blank.

hi
the entries for reset the daily hi/lo times get put in there at the daily reset time…but when you restart wd, its gone…
so, has wd been running since the daily reset time ?
(i.e midnight)

:frowning:
I believe WD was started once following reset last night.
Also, I did not mention before, and do not know if it is relevant, but in the left panel, Today’s values, all items update properly as the day progresses. It is obviously a reset problem near or at midnight that is causing the problem.

Hi
ok, at this point, please try 10.15f, i.e the latest version, and then see what is reported under view, program error log, after the midnight reset, and before wd is restarted
and we will go from there

:?

Brian,
The midnight reset took place about 20 minutes ago and Yesterday’s Values (hooray!) are listed and appear proper and accurate as checked against my console display.
I will keep my eye on this for a few days and report any reversals or hopefully report continued success.
If it helps any the total content of my Program Error Log following the misnight reset consists of only two lines as follows:

Resetting rain daily value , day: 4
Resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 4

Arthur C

looking good, and they are normal entries (it lets you know the reset has taken place)

Brian,
It has been about 10 days now and my problem appears to be solved.
The values for Yesterday are properly being displayed following each reset at midnight.
Thank you for any help provided via WD support people.
