I think i’ve asked this before, i’m looking for a program in which a jpg file will automatically convert to wbmp ( for WAP on mobile(cellphones))
Any ideas ?

i have found a component to do that,so i will be able to do it in wd
so as to have the current forecasticon (i.e current conditions) as a image you can see on the wap phone>?
or better still, a small graph of the barometer and temperature or windspeed , etc
(like the small graph on my weather banner below the post)

what is the wap html code to show a image on a wap page?
Here’s a line of code to display an image on wap BUT my phone that is a year old will display gifs just fine and I use this in a wap app I wrote for my Home Automation system.

it was the sunny icon
the image was too wide though, maybe i either create it smaller size, or is the wap/html code to set the image size and width (like there is html code?)
that would be nice, so what type of phone is this that would allow it?
I have a nokia 6385, which doesn’t do much other than calls and text messaging ( I have us cell). The wife says I have “techno=envy” but it would be nice to have this when my contract expires when hell freezes over.
i have a kyocera cell phone, and it has wap browser
getting weather data on your wap enabled cell phone is great!
with wd, you can even create your own custom wap file
and now i wil be able to have a small image of a graph of the latest trends too, with that wbmp image (it is only 1.47k size, the test i did)
the hardest part is typing the url into the phone
but once its in, you bookmark it

This is great for use when I’m travelling. I want/need to know the current weather I just dial up Weather Displays built in wap page and there’s the weather. Graphics would be nice but at a postage stamped size that my phone offers its hard to see anything. I have found that the best images on the cell phone are 2 color images like this for my Home Automation wap page.

Makes problem solving a bit easier.
I can’t test it on mine, because i use the custom wap.
Hopefully WD in the future will be able to convert a selected file to wbmp.

what i will do is have a custom tag that is the current minute stamped .wbmp graph file, as used for the default, so you can include the code in the page to show that image
yes, i can also have it where wd can convert other images…but they need to be real small !
a new 10.14j,ready now, has 2 custom tags you can use to show these new minute stamped graph images in your custom wap
i.e
%filenamewapgraph%…The current minute stamped .wbmp graph for use with a custom wap page (temp/hum graph)
%filenamewapgraph2%…The current minute stamped .wbmp graph for use with a custom wap page (baro/wind graph).

Is there anyway we can get the lines on the graphs to be a pixel or 2 thinner? This would make the graph more readable.

Hi Brian, do I have something to check in order WD produces those two *.wbmp graph files?
I don’t see them when I do a research with windows explorer. Otherwise my two customs wap pages works well. http://users.skynet.be/oster/meteo/wap/index1.wml
