My old Davis needed replaced and I bought a new one. The console shows all the data correctly but I cannot get WD to update. The console is connected to my computer and I have gotten a couple updates but they co not show on the graph. Can someone help me is getting WD to update. Thanks!
what type of data logger?
See the photo below. The other end is a USB connection to my computer. Is this what you needed to know?
that is a USB data logger
what shows in windows device manager, ports
make sure you have set WD to use that com port
Windows Device Manager has port 6 and I set WD to that same come port. Still nothing. What am I doing wrong? Sorry I am so dumb. I’m 79 and probably have lost some of my technical skills. I got this new Davis weather station to replace one I bought in 2008 and hoped it would work the same.
Someone please help me and tell me what to do. Thanks!
what shows in WD under view, debug info
(first set in WD under setup, advanced/misc , to log the raw data)
and what have you selected as the baud rate in WD?
and what exactly shows in the windows device manager (post a screen shot)
you are setting the com port number to 6 in the wrong place in WD com port setup
you select it in the com port number tab instead
It already was. See attached.
Tried something new. Changed the IP address. Now I’m getting a blinking green on the data received but it doesn’t count up, and the data quality is red. Does this mean something?
tick
log raw data for testing (in setup, advanced/misc)
then let me know what shows under view, debug info
See attached. It just keeps scrolling. Keeps asking for loop data. The company for the IP address I chose is Vivitek, Inc.
does weather link software work OK?
(exit WD first before trying that)
also check what the baud rate is set to on the actual data logger
(power down then re power up the console and then it will tell you in the ticker info what the baud rate is
also there should be 3 beeps (if not then the data logger might not be seated correctly in the socket)
also post a screen shot of the windows device manager, ports
