what does comm port disconnected mean?
I forgot to say that it was fine when i left it ,i came back and found that the comm port was disconnected,everything is still displayed ok, i just would like to know what it means
go to setup, control panel, ftp/internet setup
then go to the client/server setup
and then turn off the client switch
and then restart wd
if you have it set as a client,then its not going to be connected to a weather station, and so the com port gets disconnected

I surpose i will get the hang of it somewhen,I don’t surpose you know anything about uploading to aol homepages,As i having big problems trying to upload the webpage which i have using the wd software.they don’t like you using other ftp software other then theirs
i saw that thread…
its a no go by the looks…they have set thing up like that, and there is not much that can be done about that…
so i would look into an alternative ftp server
