Clientrawdaily not updating

Hi

SInce a reformat and install after PC failure, my 30 day charts in WDL are not being updated. Clientrawdaily is being uploaded, so it appears that this file is not being updated each day. I’m sure I’m just missing something obvious. Can someone advise please.

Thank - Mat.

is WD running all the time?
check the file create time of that clientrawdaily.txt file
what speed PC?
maybe its being missed being updated…
any errors under view, program error log (event log)?

Hi Brian.

PC is on 24/7. its a 800Mhz PC - exactly the same as before I reformatted and reinstalled - and it all worked before then, so I doubt its that.

I notice several others have had similar problems - working then not working.

I’ll check the error log when I next visit the PC. In the meantime, below is the contents of my clientrawdaily file. I compared the contents with a backup version I made when it was all working OK - and there’s obviously something wrong with it now. I also looked at the datestamped log file from which clientrawdaily is generated as I understand it. The log file is appears fine.

Many thanks - Mat

(Still struggling with Tides. BMP is being created, as is GIF, but GIF file is empty. I opened the GIF in a text editor, and only the first line exists. Everything is being FTP’d OK.)

  • HELP MEEEE - I’m DROOOOWNNNNING…

the clientrawdaily.txt is created from the datafiles, not the logfiles (now)
and to get 31 days of the data, it uses last months data
if that does not exist, then that will cause problems
if the logfiles look ok, then try, action, convert wd log files to graphs

also, the clientrawdaily.txt file is recreated when you start up wd…try restarting wd and see if it is created OK then
i will see about getting if created/updated a bit more often…(its currently is updated at 00:10 and 09:10 am)
it might be that on your slow pc its getting missed…

also, make sure you are using the latest clientrawrealtimeftp.exe (included with the full install)…

(and your slow pc is also missing the tide graph conversion, maybe…)…try setting times to create and upload the tide data in the advanced internet setup…e.g set a time ahead of now…and see if its updated OK (recent version of WD)

the tide info is updating OK for me
(on a 1.8 mhz pc)
http://www.weather-display.com/windy/gb/tideprediction.html

the tide graph should get updated at 06:05 am

but i have made a tweak that migth help in the next update/revision of wd…

Thanks Brian

I’ll try the convert wd log files.

I have tried restarting, and did do a full install of version r, so do have latest versions. Everything is getting FTP’s OK.

Thanks

Mat.

Brian - one possibility…

Before I reformatted and reinstalled, I backed up the WD.ini and WEATHERD.ini files from WD root in order not to lose my config setup. After I reinstalled I pasted these back into the WD root folder. However, it wasn’t exactly the same version of the software I reinstalled. Hence the .ini files were from version p, and were copied into a version r installation. Could this cause a problem?

Thanks - Mat.

try a new 10.35r zip…the clientrawdaily.txt filis updated more often during the day (but not yet uploaded)
i.e so you can keep an eye on the time stamp (creation/modified) of that file (right mouse click/properties)

I assume this version r is different to the r I am currently running ??

I also tried “convert wd log files”. Then restarting WD. The new clientrawdaily file I found in /webfiles is below…

However, the version on my web host server this morining is different, commencing…

12345 16.4 16.4 16.4 16.4 16.4 16.4 16.4

Although it was uploaded last night at 10.10 pm as usual. That’s strange. Could WD be FTPing an old version from somewhere else?

Situation with the Tides function is even more interesting… Have sent you a PM on that.

Cheers - Mat.

try resetting the clientraw location ,in the web files web page setup…?
note, i need to update the separate clientrawrealtimeftp.exe to upload the clientrawdaily.txt more often (a few more times a day) (in case it was missed)
time to call it a day, been a long day , here///
