clientraw.txt

Good Morning

I am running WD 18g and Weather Display Live 3.01.

So the problem is just that the clientraw files are not going to the correct location - all others are OK? I assume you’ve set the webfiles location by going to Setup - Control Panel - Web files/Web page real time etc - Web files setup #1 and clickec on the ‘set webfiles location’ button? And you’ve also ticked ‘I am running my own server and no FTP needed’ on the third tab (real time client ftp/svg/wdl) of the same window?

I think that should be all that’s required but you might need to restart WD as well.

Good Morning

All of the web page files are going to my server perfectly except the clientraw.txt.

It sounds as if your setup is similar to mine, with a home based server. Clientraw.txt was originally part of WD, not WDL, and as such I haven’t found a way of changing its path to other than the standard WD HTML directory. If, as you say, you have split off the other WDL files from the WD HTML files, this may be where you’re hitting the problem. The option I eventually used was to put the WDL swf and xml files in my WD HTML directory, where clientraw.txt resides, and leave it at that.
Hope that helps!
Steve.

I have a similar set up as well but I’ve always left the default directory alone and use a separate utility to only copy the relevant files whenever they are changed to my webserver directory. I do this for security purposes. The software I use is called Ghostfiles and seems to work OK.

hi
under setup, control panel, ftp/internet setup, client/server setup, tick, set the location for the clientraw.txt file
and then select the needed directory on your pc

Good Morning

With everyones help, I finally got it going by moving the files of WDL into the root directory on the server.
