Clientraw.txt wont produce

Hi. I am trying to get Wdisplay v 10.18j and WDL to function. The problem I encountered was that in the <> dir. the file clientraw.txt was not there anymore. I tried another (older) version, and it worked okay. = I am using Windows XP with SP2. May this be a problem?

I would appriciate a answer asap.

hi
try going to :
setup, control panel, ftp/internet setup, client/server setup
then click on , set the location for the client raw file
and set that to the web files folder
but, also, try:
in the webfiles/web page setup, have ticked, enable real time uploading of the client raw

Tnx for the answer. windy…
Another thing I’ve noticed is that I now won’t get the “COM1 PORT” to work… No matter what I do it won’t update anything from my WS 2305 station. And as a matter of fact; It also says so in the com-port config for WD setup. - May this be the reason that the clientraw.txt is missing??? :frowning:

I will try to do what you told in your post, windy… But the major prob is that I do not have the clientraw.txt file anywhere in my WD folders…

hi
so the data receivec light is not flashing?
what is does is say across the top of the WD screen windows title bar?

make sure no other software is using the com port too

Hi again
I’ve installed the v10.18m version now… Now I have the clientraw.txt file again…
The only thing now is the com-port that isn’t working anymore…
On the “program-line” at top it says: “Weather Display 10.18m -Client (comm port disconnected)” :?
It dosent matter witch comm-port I am selecting in the setup… Nothing is happening anymore.
The one comm I used before (without any probs) was com1… Now when I select it, it say’s the same at the
top of the program… (go figure??) - I have also removed (uninstalled) XP SP2 to see if it was it’s foult… But nothing
different…

On the "program-line" at top it says: "Weather Display 10.18m -Client (comm port disconnected)"

that was the clue i was looking for

many people make this wrong setup mistake

go to:
setup, control panel, ftp/internet setup, client/server setup
then turn off the client switch (i.e just have the server switch on)
then restart WD

 That really did the trick!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Tnx alot, windy… As you can imagine, I am pretty fresh to this setup thing on WD/WDL… I did as you told, but when I did the station-type changed.
So I got in the settings for the stations, and selected LaCrosse (I have the WS2305)… It shows (on top) 2315, but I’m sure that it’s pretty much the
same station… (At least it look’d like it through the pictures from lacrosse)… Now it is updating here (the history) and the com-port is okay too!!
O’ joy!!! O’ Happiness!! :o

Uhhm??
:x Now I got another problem… Propably just another adjustment to the “setup” part but still…
Now the FTP has gone berserk uploading lots and lots of tiles to who knows where? - I just wanted the WDL to function…
I have additional 5 FTP icons at sys-tray at once uploading files that I dont want it too…
The WDL-upload wont upload because all the FTP’s that are running… WOW?? Now there is 6 FTP icons there???! 8O

Disturbing regards from Philby - Norway!

check under view, ftp log, view full log, to see where and why its stopping
I suspect though that the ftp might be being blocked by your firewall, or maybe you need to tick permanent connection in the connections setup, or tick passive mode there
