I have searched the forum for help on this and I am sure I have read something somewhere, but to no avail.
My sailing club is considering displaying a WDL page on their own website - using my data. I accept that they will have to pay for another licence.
My question is can my data be sent to more than one web (FTP) site at the same time.

the actual physical sending of it is possible. Settings- general ftp settings . the one that will upload up to 3 setups and you could have it send the clientraw file to somewhere else.
I think, however, Julian has to know where the urls up as it won’t work right.
Yes this should be fairly straightforward as I believe you can FTP the clientraw to 2 different places with the current version of WD. You could use this on one site at the moment to display 2 different versions of WDL but it’s rather tricky to set up like that. I don’t see any problem with using the second FTP option to FTP to another website but you would need another serial number. What wouldn’t work is getting the second site to look at the clientraw file on your site as this sort of cross domain data retrieval is banned by Flash for security reasons.
Next version will be much easier to set up multiple instances of WDL on one site as you’ll be able to have multiple config files - probably in different folders - and then get them to all point at the same clientraw file.

Well it was going to be a couple of weeks ago but people kept offering excellent suggestions for new features so I got side tracked! I’m ironing out the last few bugs at the moment then I need to do some proper testing and write some comprehensive notes so realistically it’s going to be at least 4 weeks away. But don’t worry - I’m keen to get it released as well because it’s going to give everyone a LOT of new features.

I apologise if I sound dim. I have configured the second setting in Real time client raw upload screen. However I do not get a file uploaded. My original website works ok. I have no means of testing the connection to see if it is up.
Do I have to make a copy of the file or the exe that uploads the data? If so what file names should I use.

Addendum… Finally located the FTP log - seems I am getting a connection and logon ok . but no files are moving - why???

you are in the wrong place in WD
do not use the 2nd server general /grouped ftp upload in wd
and do not even use the general ftp upload in wd at all for the clientraw upload
turn off the general ftp switch…
you need to be here:
setup, control panel, webfiles/webpage/real time ftp
and then the 3rd tab across, the real time ftp setup
and have it ticked to do the real time ftp uploads
and for a 2nd upload to a different ftp server, tick to do that and set those ftp settings (i.e the 2nd clientraw.txt real time ftp settings setup (bottom right hand corner)

OK here we go. In Control Panel / FTP, Internet, Metar etc (top Row) the only items that are switched on are the Main Internet switch in the connections tab. In here I have entered my FTP logon stuff for my own domain. I have also checked “use weather display own FTP”
In Web files / Web Page real time my settings are already as you suggest.
Real time uploading is checked.
Clientraw.txt is entered in a field called “Use this filename on FTP server instead”
“Use this settings for other clientraw upload instead” (left panel) option is unchecked. FTP details for my domain are entered.
Right hand panel
Run second program is checked and all FTP settings for second site entered and correct.
“Name of the file” field has clientraw.txt entered.
AS i said above, the clientraw gets to my site ok. The second site is logged onto correctly and the correct directory is changed to.
The FTP log says that no file was uploaded.

the log below is from a 2nd ftp server from the grouped upload
it says that
the real time client raw ftp upload is not logged in the ftp log within wd at all
you need to view it directly, by bringing up the clientrawrealtimeftp.exe program and making it visible (double click its icon in the system tray (it looks like a flash)
the 2nd ftp upload of the clientraw.txt file to a 2nd ftp server is done by a program called clientrawrealtimeftp2.exe
is that running? (needs to be )

I didnt have a clientrawrealtimeftp2.exe so I copied the original and renamed it.
After restarting the program I now get 2 icons in my system tray instead of one. Problem is both connect to the original website, mine. If its any help both programs have a numeral 1 in the button bar to the right - under the window control buttons.

oh no, copying the original and renaming it is no good!
no wonder its sending data to the same place
you need to download the latest full or beta version of WD, and use that…it has the clientrawrealtimeftp2.exe with it

…after a long delay the sailing club have decide to go with WDL and my data (using the second FTP upload).
Now … can the second FTPupload send the other file that WDL version 2 now requires and (optionally) the wdfulldata.xml file.

Would it not be easier to create a full page version of wd live on your server, and simply get the sailing club to use your full size page in an I Frame on their page?
