It sounds like this is a problem for Brian (the WD author). Unfortunately he is away for the weekend, so won’t be able to read your message until next week. It might be worth you sending him a personal message so that’s he sure to see it when he gets back.

hi
do you have ticked, the data is appended, for the use of the data386.ini universal file?
email me a copy of your file
re exprired
try creating a file called test.txt where you have wd installed

OK good

Thanks Bryan

Hi Windy,
repeat: i do not have file DATA386.ini ???.

'73

That’s the file you have to create with the data from your weather station.

Your weather station puts data in that file, and WD reads it and displays it.

Thanks,Niko
but i am confused…i know this file named DATAIN38.ini not DATA386.ini…
Its the same ???

Bye

Biagio

You’re right, it is actually DATAIN38.INI, and I’m sure that’s the file that Brian needs sent to him.

Hi
yes, its datain38.ini
(lower case)
you need to have that file created, and in existance, and you need to select its location, in the weather station type setup

make sure that file is being created and updated by your software (and email me a copy of that file, so i can test it here)

(the orgins of the file name go back to the fact i was reading data from a DOS program on a 386 PC!

Hi,
OK,clear.

I attach my file (little lines ) datain38.ini (txt).

Thanks

datain38.txt (1.92 KB)

News ?

Bye

Hi
i did not receive any email
please email again
and your WD settings too:
go, action, back up registry entry now
then email me the files wdisplay.ini and wdisplayftp.reg from sub folder databackup

Dear Windy
I have the same prblem yet, it isn’t necessary that I send to you the file datain38.ini.
When my program “Geniedaq” runs it is’n permitted to read the file that it make (file named “datain38.ini”) saved in your program “weather display”.
This is my only problem. Your program upload happen only if I stop “Geniedaq”.
I can’t read a file called “in use”.
Should you try a solution?
Thx

Good 2005

weather display closes the file after reading it
but, it is opening and closing the file every 1 second
maybe that is the problem
maybe if the time interval for weather display was much less that would be better?
the program you are using should be able to handle a file open by another program, but it looks like it can not then
i.e if weather display is not running, then your program creates and updates the file OK?

SOLVE my PROBLEM

I create small file, visual basic application, and save generated data create with VISIDAQ application,in one file with storage function, about WD read data them storage.

VERY HAPPY

Again one question:
whith UNIVERSAL interface its possible read solar data ?

Thanks,bye

hi
sounds like good news…you got a simple VB program to create the needed universal interface file
yes, i could add that…add it as a number on the end, and then I will get WD to read that in, for the next version

My friend,Windy
beloved , as I have said to you I have resolved the problem with a program in Visual Basic (makes me to know if he serves to you).
I ask you hour:

  • you preview to add universal to interface also solar sensor W/mq… ?
  • the curves of the diagrams can be in format curve and not to square scale?

Thanks
