Bonnie and Charlie -- Who else is in the path? Predictions?

Tropical Storm Bonnie…and Charlie to follow.

The latest update finally shows us in the path of some good storms possibly from both of them…

I am approx where the little red star is on this image of Charlie’s projected path so a “direct hit” is very unlikely, however some decent storms should come of it.

We should be feeling the outer affects of Bonnie on Thursday afternoon…and then Charlie around Saturday morning…

I’m fortunate enough to be far enough inland to not have to be too concerned about “hurricane” type storms so it’s been a long long time since I’ve seen us show up in “the path” which is likely why I’m finding it rather interesting and almost looking forward to the storms (ok truth be told…my weather station is so new I’m just anxious to see the results of a good storm lol)

Anyone else going to have a station in the storm path? Predictions?

Ack!

They updated it and it looks like Charlie wants to put my weather station to a much bigger test than I thought!

Now I’m def going to be storm tracking…

Hi
keep us updated, and keep safe!

Bonnie is looking like she is going to miss us completely… whew…

Charley on the other hand has a course that keeps adjusting to ensure he points right at us. Thank goodness we’re not on the coastline!

Extended forecast is starting to show 40mph winds for us on Friday with higher gusts…some are predicting upwards of 70mph…

I’m struggling to decide because he does have to hit a good deal of land before getting to us.

Either way…looks like we’ll be bringing turtles in from the pond before then :stuck_out_tongue:

do you have some links to some good satellite pictures?
thanks
i hope your tree is a strong one

The photos I’m personally watching can be viewed at:

Letting the page load all of the way will bring up the list of tropical storm reports…

My favorite image so far is:

The full size image of the one above is located at:

Try the following link for sat pictures of both storms. Busy page but lots of great pictures if you dig deep.

Anyway, setting in South Carolina looks like we well get lots of rain from both Bonnie and Charley.

another good sat image

look out guys!

oh
i see you are still in its path Picolio!

They just informed us we’re 10mph shy of a CAT 5 and yes… it looks like we’re going to get to see the eye of the storm here…

About 5 minutes ago it got black as night!

The first band is just starting to hit us…

Wish us luck…I’ll likely be out of power soon and unknown when it’ll be back. Three kids, two parents, and more animals than you could imagine (four of which are protected on endangered species list left in my care in hope of breeding) depending on the home holding up.

See ya on the flipside!

make sure you have batteries in the vp console
then it will keep storing the weather data for you when the power goes out

You betcha!

It’s a big one 8O

really hope there isn’t too much damage - Charley is well over land now in FL.

And PicOlio had a nasty band of stormy rain in the last hour - PicOlio website still up to date with weather at the moment. Rain rate 0.663 in/hr !

Rather ominously there were 6 personal weather stations broadcasting data to Wunderground earlier - now there are none :open_mouth: - testing time for equipment

The main storm seems nicely on track for Orlando and Picolio now. The NWS server seems to be having a hard time keeping up too. http://weather.gov/radar/latest/DS.p19r0/si.ktbw.shtml

ahhhh, seems like Wunderground has a problem. There are no weather stations anywhere. Not even mine sniff

Still have power…and really have not had anything “too bad” yet.

I think we’ll be seeing the eye in about a half hour…

Expecting 100mph winds at that time…

Right now…our highest gust has only been 21…and it was just a single gust…

1.33 in of rain so far… most of it a matter of minutes…the rest has been strange drizzles

LOTS OF CLOUDS!!!

you can certainly see the pressure dropping quickly as the eye approaches. Good luck!!

Wunderground personal stations are back.

PicOlio’s is http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KFLOVIED1

Just about there now, hope it’s not too bad…

looks like power was lost at 9:10pm local time as that is when data from their station stopped.
