Barometric Readings wrong

Hello All.

I am running version10.20r

The Barometric Pressure Readings next to the Wind Dials seems to be working
ok. BUt the Numbers on the Graph are way off…

Is there a setting to be adjusted so the two will be the same…

I thought the reading both the graph and the one on the left were supposed to be the same…

BTW I have 00 in the Off set… Thanks and enjoy

Hi
what weather station type?

Davis II wired

what is your actual reported barometer reading?
do you live at altitude ?
have you set a barometer offset?
what do you have set for the barometer range, etc, under setup, graph setup?

New guy here trying to play around with my new weather station. Took one look at the free Internet SW with my WS-2310 and did a google to find you guys.

I have my station set up and the data going into a computer I set up solely for running Weather-Watch. It has been a long afternoon setting up the software and PC.

I live at 8,200 feet in Colorado USA
my 2310 shows an Absolute Barometric Pressure of 22.27inHG
WW shows my Barometer to be 18.905

I have my elevation set in the Control Panel /Units

I have read about the barometer off set, but for the life of me can’t find it.

Why would WW show a lower value than what my 2310 shows for Absolute? I could understand the value being higher to correct for Relative (i.e. Sea Level). I don’t want to collect Relative, just absolute and track it. We are trying to track down the source of my wife’s headaches and think the barometric pressure could play a part and with the numbers looking whacky in WW I’m not sure what to do.

If you guys want to give me feedback on my page feel free - there are so many options with this SW, I got a little overwhelmed today

Not really sure what setting you are using.

You might try to compare what is around you…

I don’t know where you are in realtionship to that reading, but I doubt the difference that is showing by looking at your current reading and that reading would be off by much.

They are however quite different. I would think way too different.

Yours: 18.905in
Theirs: 30.26in

Temps were a bit wide too… Yours 22.8f theirs 16.0f

hi
the program is called weather display (WD), not weather watch
 #-o

now, WD uses the un adjusted raw barometer reading from the ws2310
so, you will need to add a barometer offset, to get it working correctly
under setup, control panel, barometer offsets and rainfall
then set the appropriate offset there, then click on set, then yes to save settings

wb0blv:
try setting 0 and not 00
and make sure you do not enter any units…
best bet is to work out the offset needed, compared to an official reading, like from a metar, and then convert to hpa, and then select that from the slider…

if you have inches ticked, then you need to enter the offset as inches, e.g
0.015

for example
if not inches ticked, then set the offset needed in hpa
e,g
0.5

Sorry about that - I looked up and saw the forum name and slipped in a W when I should of hit the D.

Thanks for the help

I’m not sure where weather.com is getting the info for my town(my town is way small - not a single stop light) I would suspect Denver. The temp is too cold for my house even though I’m 3000 feet above Denver. There is a cold front that has settled in and Denver is much colder.

As for the pressure, everyone uses relative barometric pressure (adjusted for sea level) and not absolute (which we use for medical tracking) This would explain the large delta in pressure.

I appreciate everyone’s help for this newbie. Not all forums open up until you have your stripe
