Barometer Reading Never Changes

Hardware: WS2010

For some reason, my barometer reading is stuck at 29.914 and does not change. It changes on the Weather Station LCD, but not on the display on WD. I upgraded to version 10.20o but no change. This is a wireless station so could the signal not be making it to the PC interface? I get readings for Rain, temp, and wind.

Any thoughts on this?

do you live at altitude?

6000 FT

do you have a barometer offset set in weather display?
(under setup, barometer offset and rainfall)
what is the raw barometer reading displayed under view, ws2010/ws2500 data information and setup?

Raw unadjusted barometer = 806.0 hpa
Pressure: 1713.800 in.

Offset: Not sure here. I have two numbers next to (on left) of the the Drop Down.
Top one reads: 57229
Bottom one Reads: 1690.000

I am very new to all of this so I hope I am giving you what you need.

hi
i think your offset is too high
try setting a offset of 200 (hpa (i.e untick inches))
as a starting point
then click on set, then click on save settings

I’ll try that. Is there a formula to figure out the offset?

check against a local metar reading or someone elses barometer reading?
and then set your offset to bring your reading up to that (mean sea level adjusted reading)

the nearest airport to you seems to be

Denver, Centennial Airport, CO, United States (KAPA) 39-33-50N 104-50-54W 1775M
Dec 20, 2004 - 05:20 PM EST / 2004.12.20 2220 UTC
Wind: from the ENE (070 degrees) at 33 MPH (29 KT) gusting to 43 MPH (37 KT):0
Visibility: 10 mile(s):0
Sky conditions: mostly cloudy
Temperature: 35 F (2 C)
Windchill: 21 F (-6 C):1
Dew Point: 19 F (-7 C)
Relative Humidity: 51%
Pressure (altimeter): 29.71 in. Hg (1006 hPa)

so you could set your pressure to equal that airport?

Yes that is the closest airport and the one I have been trying to calibrate to. It is about 6 miles from here so it has to be pretty close.

Thanks.

good stuff - so according to your summary image here you need to add around 7.5in. as an offset to equal the airport pressure?!

Well, since that reading was a couple hours old, I tried to match it to my LCD reading which seems to be about 6.644 in. I will give it a few days to see how close they are and tweak accordingly.

Thanks again.

Wunderground lists many other personal wx stations around Denver

about 29.8 in seems to be the average at the moment - apart from Thornton which must be at altitude?!?
