A while back I ask you if it was possible to keep the background colour of the metar image.
Every times Weather Display is shut down and re-started, the metar image comes back with its default background colour (ie: #B8C0EB). Every times, I have to open the metar image, click on the “back colour” button to reset the background colour. Is there a way to make the metar image background colour “stick”?
I have been trying to use a background image on the default Web page created by WD. I have modified the file “datahtm0.txt” so a link point to the background image file but every times WD re-creates the default Web page, the link is being replaced with ". Where else should I enter the background image information so that the image will be used?
ah ha,
i have found the problem with the background colour
i will upload a fix
for the other issue, enter that filename in the box for the background image under the webfiles/web page setup, first tab of the 3, near the top of the setup screen…
try that
...for the other issue, enter that filename in the box for the background image under the webfiles/web page setup, first tab of the 3, near the top of the setup screen...
Would that be under “Web files/page setup”, the “Web files setup #1” tab, “Filename of wallpaper (jpg or gif file only)”?
If that is indeed the location, for some reasons, neither the [filename.ext] nor the [complete_path.filename.ext] wants to “stick” (even after clicking the “Update html file” and “OK” buttons)!
yes, i think there is a bug there i need to fix, which happens under certain circumstances
email me your datahtm0.txt file and i will have a look
and then try removing that whole background image html code part from that file and then see if it works/sticks

Brian, not as of release 10.12b…
Upon starting, setting up, shutting down and re-starting that latest release, I am having the same problem with the background colour for the metar image (metar.gif) not “sticking” to the colour I would like it to have.

Brian, a private e-mail with my present “datahtm0.txt” file will be sent to you.
I have edit “datahtm0.txt” and remove any of the background information. I then re-entered the complete path for the background image in the setup of WD. Finally, I forced WD to update the Internet. The background image information is not even entered/saved into the "datahtm0.txt: file…
hi
i have spent some time and fixed some issues with the background image and or colour setting in the datahtm0.txt
and i have even added a , let me manage the datahtm0.txt (even though you could add things to it).
in a new 10.12f, uploading now
i will let you know when its ready
i have spent some time and fixed some issues with the background image and or colour setting in the datahtm0.txt...
Brian,
The “metar.gif” file still will not hold its background colour (using WD v10.12m) - whenever WD is re-started, it always reverts back to the default colour…
As far as adding the required background colour information in the “datahtm0.txt” file (ie: ) will hold until WD is re-started and then reverts back to no background colour (ie: ).
I have even placed a checkmark in front of the “Let me manage the datahtm0.txt file” in “Setup > Control panel > Web files/page setup”!
...as far as I can tell, a new 10.12n version, ready now, is OK for these 2 problems...
As far as I can tell (with the above release), the metar background colour is still re-setted to its default colour (ie: #B8C0EB) when WD is closed, even when using the “Save and exit” option.
It does not seem to matter where I make the changes for the metar background colour, ie: clicking on the weather picture on the main screen or using the “View > Metar images” option.
As far as “datahtm0.txt”, it keeps being re-written by WD and the backfround colour tag is being replaced and returned to its default:
I would like to use
but what I ever get is
I tried entering the filename and the complete drive:path/filename under the “Setup > Control panel > Web files/page setup #1 > Filename of wallpaper” but the information will not “stick”.
...i will upload 10.12o, so you can know you have the latest...
Brian, I have downloaded and installed 10,12o…
also, try , as a test, setting the background colour of the summary image, in the summary image setup
That is to setup the “summary.gif” image - I do not have nor did I ever had any problem with this image.
I am having problems with the “metar.gif” image, the one produced with the metar information downloaded. Even with 10.12o, if I setup the background colour for the “metar.gif” image, exit WD and then re-start WD, the background colour for “metar.gif” reverts back to the default blueish (#B8C0EB) background.
ok
i see now
i was actualy testing/checking how it looked when you view it in the program, not what it looked like as the metar.gif
i will ckeck/test that
works OK
so, i would say you have a setting set somewhere…
so, best thing is to get to me your settings:
go action, back up registry settings now, then email me the file, wdisplayftp.reg, from the folder databackup
and i will see if i can duplicate the it
