I thought this topic was covered before, but my search of the messages didn’t turn up anything, so…

I have AW set to update every 30 minutes.

WD is doing an update every 10 minutes.

do you mean the updating of the file on your hard rive, or the ftp of the file to anythingweather?
(the updating of the file on the hard drive is fixed at every 10 minutes)

My bad. I only checked the data on AW and saw it was updated every 10 minutes so I assumed WD was ftp’ing every 10 minutes. After I checked the ftp log file I see it is working correctly.

I’d still like to save dialup bandwidth and not send AW the webcam image at night.

I am running 10.15 version of WD. I am unable to get the anythingweather file to upload unless I manually do it with a “Test a data send”. That works.

I have entered my ID, set it to upload every 10 minutes, and turned on the big green switch. The file nj-Succasunna gets created in the logfiles directory, but the only way it gets uploaded is if I do it manually.

What did I forget to turn on?

I don’t know. I am runningWD v10.15 2004/07/27 04:11. My uploads are good. See:

I have not changed anythingweather settings for over a year.

This is the first time. I just joined. The uploads only work when I hit the “Test” button. Then the full file with all it’s history uploads. That is why the history is ok.

My last upload (forced) was at 10.01 pm 7/28.

What does your FTP log show for the anythingweather file upload?

Absolutely nothing unless I force it. Then I get a dialog. Otherwise, there is not even an attempt to upload. Not even an error. Nothing

How often do you have the upload scheduled? I was told to set it for every 10 minutes. But whenever I force it, the entire file with all the history is uploaded. Doesn’t it just keep getting appended to? I can’t imagine that this upload just keeps growing.

Thanks anyway. Probably some check box somewhere else.

Repreuss;

I had the identical problem and Brian found it was in the ftpupd.exe file and published a new one prior to 10.15 and is now included in the full download of 10.15. If you’ve just been downloading the wd exe file you’ll need to download the full version.

Ever since his ftpupd fix all has been working well. And yes, the entire file is sent every time.

found and fixed another problem…
i was missing a . when checking for the file name (i.e was looking for ID txt, and was missing the .

You don’t want to hear about the “Silly Mistake” we had here at the Salt Mines (a.k.a. work place) yesterday.
