Another amateur weather station - site...

Sooooo… if your not tired of all the amateur weahter stations, here is one more! (mine)

http://weather.flecom.net/

Threw this together and still playing with the whole thing, I am having way too much fun with this stuff

Nicely done!

I must say very nice, simple but complete…

The only suggestions I would have is, especially since it sounds like you are having so much fun with it, would be:

A: Start playing with the custom screens and create a replacement for the Summary.gif on your main page… Lost of discussions recently on custom screens here in the forums.

B: Have the Weather Display Live page either open in new window, maybe you already do but I can’t tell using FireFox, or better would be to place a link back to your main page or a java script back button…

Here is the custom screen I am using in my main page…

Very nice and thanks for sharing,
Bob

Ps… Howdy ,way down south from a northerly neighbor

Very nice.

I would make the location of your weather station more obvious though.

It was only when I hit your WD Live page that the location was mentioned.

Thanks for all the great suggestions!

Hey Jax hows the weather in Jacksonville? Hopefully cooler than down here, I’m out with some of the local amature radio guys camping in the middle of the Everglades… so of course we have loads of solar panels, inverters, laptops, satellite internet connections… which makes you wonder the point of leaving home, but alas, I digress…

I am definately looking into playing with the custom screen function, but I want to read all about it before I go and break everything

My goal for the design was very simplistic, easy layout. The whole point of the webpage is not “oo wow check out that awesome webpage,” I have other pages for that, this page was 90% function, but I still want to make it look nice  and I will probably still be tweaking it a bit…

About my location, Kendall is part of Miami, but I realize that most people probably don’t know what or where Kendall is so I just put Miami… I added more info about the station’s location in the about page, which I finally made

I intended for WDL to open in a new window, but I forgot to add the _blank to the target for the link

Hello,

We hit a nice solid 81 today, under mostly cloudy conditions… The record for todays date was 80 set in 1989 so I don’t know if official records will reflect a record breaker or not… Checking the WU readings for KJAX which is considered the Official readings for Jacksonville, it would appear that we did set a new record high temp for this date:

Just think if it had been clear… Oyyyyy

Sounds like you moved your weather station and office out into the everglades with you… LOL
