Acceptable Use Policy - A Question

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, .... inaccurate

Does this mean we can no longer provide links to our weather stations?

If the link is inaccurate, then you canā€™t post it

However, if the link is accurate I canā€™t be held responsible for the inaccurate data at the other end of it

I assume that question came about as a result of too much excitement caused by your celebrations?

:occasion4: :occasion1: :occasion6: :occasion7: :occasion9:

Awā€¦ You rememberedā€¦

Having read the ā€œPolicyā€, Iā€™ve come to the conclusion that the Administrator believes that we are all a bunch of blithering idiots who canā€™t make decisions for ourselves!

Well, Iā€™ve made a decision to resign from this message board! Mr . Administrator remove me from this little kids forum immediately.

Bye,

Clam Bagger

Is it just me, or is that a very strange reaction to posting the rules as a reminder of what everyone agreed to abide to when they registered?

Anyway, as requested the Clam Bagger account has been deleted. Goodbye Clam Bagger.

that does not surprise me, a post like that, from that person.

have some been a bit naughty lately then for a reminder of the policy to be posted?

No more so than usual. Itā€™s just that I realised today that whilst people had signed up to either this version of the AUP or something similar from the previous forum software, in some cases that could have been many months (or even years ago). I thought it would be useful to post it publicly as a reminder of what is/isnā€™t allowed for those who havenā€™t seen it for some time, especially as Iā€™m not sure how a non-admin registered user could view it again if they wanted to.

The AUP is pretty much the same as any AUP you sign up to for access to any Internet forum/system/ISP these days, so Iā€™m not really sure what there is in it for Clam Bagger to get so upset about. However, itā€™s a free world. Heā€™s entitled to his opinion, even if I donā€™t agree with it, and heā€™s old enough to decide whether he wants to be a member of the forum or not.

Incidentally, I have no idea whether any of you are blithering idiots who canā€™t make decsions for yourselves. I suspect not though, but Iā€™m not really sure what that has to do with the AUP? The AUP is there to protect ME, not you!

I must admit I hadnā€™t read the AUP in detail until the acceptable chatter subjects thread came up, I certainly donā€™t see anything exciting or even unusual in there. I guess that makes me a blithering idiot too

I did not see anything wrong with Chris posting the policy. I figured it was more of a legal type of disclaimer so he would not be held responsible for any inappropriate postings. I just made my initial comment because I thought, for this thread, it was just a tad bit of humor. In fact, I just had to go back and see what it was that might have upset Clam Bagger. I agree with you, Chris, it was rather strange.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program.

I thought it was a joke. Add me to the idiot list :?

i would agree, i have never been to a forum that doesnā€™t have a similar thing posted
