Hi Eveyone
In my webfile folder I have about 3 months of 24 hour gif files (20041215.gif) a new one for every day. Do I need to keep all of the files, or can I remove them? I don’t see anything in the program to look at them, (the old ones) are they needed?
Thanks Joe
Hi Joe,
if you are sure you don’t need them then sure you can delete them all. WD does not use them. they are just taking up space.
Some people upload these to their websites in such a way that users can have a look at them to see what the weather did on a particular day.
If you want to turn off the function go to setup > control panel > FTP/internet setup > web files upload and av/ext
and untick the boxes to create/upload daily graph files.
Although in my case the daily files still get saved to my HDD whether I have the boxes ticked or not!!! See what happens in your case.
Hope this helps
Martyn
actualuy, yeah, they are not supposed to be created localy unless thats ticked in the web upload times (in the ftp/internet setup)
i will investiage that
If you use "Select Average / Extreme Month [GO]
pick a month - each day has a “click here for today 24 hour graph”
The gif are the click here for 24 hour graph. They are not needed locally on the website
Gus
yeah that’s true - those are the uploaded graphs and not the ones saved locally on the user’s HDD though unless I am barking up the wrong tree.
