10.20Q works for me

Brian,

I have posted a bunch here with problems I was having. I had two copies of WD running - one with airport metar set-up prior to receiving my Davis VP2. The second copy was set up after I got the VP2 using separate dir and 2wd.txt as you suggested. I was having all sorts of trouble. You were very patient with this newbie. One problem was running a screen saver (remember.?)

Over the holiday I removed WD and cleaned the registry of both copies. I Uninstalled both, deleted dirs, and ran scandick and defrag. Then I installed 10.20Q - only ONE copy and reduced upload frequency. Since then all has been working WONDERFULLY. I have had WD up with no crashes for four days now. I have re-booted once when WD seemed slow and memory resources were short. I am using an old PII with 192 RAM on Windoze 98SE.

Generally I am very pleased. I get an error message about re-setting daily temp, etc in the error log - thats the only errors. Four days and counting!

I have CWOP and WU updating as well as a WAP. I am working on custom WAP and have a basic custom wxlocal/wx.html.

Issues/Questions I have found now that I have a stable installation:

  1. Graphs on WAP are unusable. A bunch of random lines. I have both USA and Nokia ticked.

  2. When I right click on graphs and select 3 HR Autoscale, it does not stick. After a few min, it reverts to non-autoscale. And I would like the screen snaps that are uploaded to be autoscaled.

  3. Free viewer has issues with settings sticking. And the graph range cannot be changed. No matter what setting I use in the viewer, graph range does not change.

  4. Occasionally (once a day) the clientraw does not get ftp’d to the right place. It goes to the root, not the /weather folder I set up. I have ticked “do not proceed if cwdir command fails”. It happens about once a day.

All in all I feel I am making progress with your very complex and very powerful program. I appreciate your patience. You offered to refund - please cancel the refund as I am becomming a happy user.

Frank

well, this is good news then
note, I was doing some digging around, and I found a problem with setting the sunmoon image updating time…

anyway:

I get an error message about re-setting daily temp, etc in the error log - thats the only errors.
thats actualy not an error, but a program log to just inform you it processed the daily reset OK
1. Graphs on WAP are unusable. A bunch of random lines. I have both USA and Nokia ticked.
there are only 2 colours available (unless you have a gif abiliity phone, then you can use your own template and set to use the gif graph (using the custom tag ) for temp/hum, they generaly are inverse of each other, so its quite easy to pick which one is which, and similar for baro and wind, you can tell which one is one which, i.e the baro line is more stable.. once you get used to reading the wap graphs, they are quite usefull

3 auto scale is not a sticky graph, no (you can set which graphs to use by default, see under graph setup, but the 3 hour auto scale is not an option there,…although it could be (but there is a bug in the 3 hour auto scale graph I am trying to find that causes a floating point error)

BTW any ideas on Occasionally (once a day) the clientraw does not get ftp’d to the right place. It goes to the root, not the /weather folder I set up. I have ticked “do not proceed if cwdir command fails”. It happens about once a day.

Any Ideas?

have not had a chance to look at the graph range issues with the free client viewer

its school holidays, and so doing things with the kids , so not all that much spare time left

hope you understand, and your patience is appreciated

Take your time with the viewer. I have also noticed the altitude setting does not stick. And the color of data labels on the graphs cannot be changed.

Thanks

Frank
