I’m getting an error when starting up WD in the new version…
ERROR: Access violation at address 00403F86 in module 'WeatherD.exe'. Read of address 404DFFF8 at time/date 8:01:04 PM 10/10/2004
There seems to be an extra window up there too.
After an Update of the Internet takes place. The screen appears to go back to normal.
Not sure if I should keep running this though as I don’t know what else might be messed up.
WinXP-Pro SP2
a copuple of things to check:
that you have not set up, say the direct web cam capture…if so, then reset that under setup, control panel, web cam setup
or maybe you have set up the weather voice, and that too needs to be reset
I am running 10.18 and its OK here
ah, thats the clue…an internet update,
try narrowing down which one it is:
i.e go to , setup, control panel
customise internet and file creation upload
and click on now on each one (for create/update)
until that error is seen in the program error log
or, it might actualy be the new data i have added to the clientrawextra.txt file, for WDL
which is done every 10 minutes (i.e 10 past, 20 past,etc)
i.e if the time occurs then, then that is the culprit
so, if so, then its either the new daily hi/lo data for the month to date in the clientrawextra file
or its the new VP forecast text in the clientrawextra.txt file
what is your current VP forecast text?
i.e is it really long or something?
check the clientrawextra.txt file
Actually… I tried to setup Weather Voice a while ago, but hitting the ICON in Setup didn’t do anything. Hitting Reset would say Settings Erased… but nothing changed.
I’ve never reported it because it was not a real biggy to me, just curious what it did.
I’m not using a Weather Cam.
I’ve tried resetting the Weather voice again… and it said the same thing… Settings Erased.

How do I click on create/update and watch the log at the same time.
After clicking a couple of them, the main page looks okay, but I can’t see which one did it if it is related at all.
As for the rest… I will have to check. Severe Thunderstorm was the note.
Error goes away when I hit file #3 Screen Update Screen Image File
re weather voice:
you will lost likely see an error under the program error log (i.e means you might not have any voice drivers loaded on your pc first)
i am thinking the culprit will be the extra data in the clientrawextra.txt file
as thats all thats changed much in the latest version
so, zip and email me the data file, month102004.inf
so i can check it here
what are you are seeing is what is reported under view, program error log,…which is what i meant where to look for any new error after clicking on each now button
doing the screen capture hides that error list that you saw

Yeah… it is spewing out errors every second or so like:

They are not displayed on the front screen though, just the logs.

thats something else!
is the clientraw.txt file updating OK? (check the file time stamp)
the other thing to try is a complete pc reboot maybe?
(but even try an older version, i,e the beta version, to see it it does it too)
Both clientraw.txt and clientrawextra.txt are updating as I would think.
I will do a reboot.
I was running 10.17z before the update, which apparently was uploaded to you just before I saw it.
i am getting that error with your datafile too…

you must have had some bad day stamp data in your file
i have checked for that now
uploading a new 10.18 version
(which also fixes the custom tag too)
What is the time stamp on the version… Current on the website is 4:45 but I don’t recall what it was when I downloaded now.
It is 20:54 (-700) now here.
